Annette's rom-com, "Daughter of the Bride" (Marcia Gay Harden), was released theatrically, in five cities, and on VOD in Feb. 2023, with a FOX Broadcast exclusive on June 27, followed by Hulu June 28th.
Her directing career began with "The Foot Shooting Party" starring Leonardo DiCaprio, financed by Jeffrey Katzenberg's Discretionary Fund at Touchstone Pictures.
After a standing-room-only screening at Sony, "Premiere" magazine featured Annette in an article, "Talent to Keep an Eye On."
Prior to directing, Annette studied acting under legendary coach, Joan Darling, and worked as a script supervisor on major studio films. Spielberg saw "The Foot Shooting Party" and hired her to direct NBC's "SeaQuest" starring Roy Scheider, Kate Nelligan and Julie Harris.
On her first feature, "Foxfire," Annette pulled Angelina Jolie from auditions for a minor role and offered her the lead. "Foxfire" has found a cult following and is considered by many to be the film that launched Jolie's career.
Annette wrote and directed her next two films, "Love is Strange" (Ron Silver, Kate Nelligan, Julie Harris) and "Savannah" (Sam Shepard, Jim Caviezel, Chiwetel Ejiofor), casting Academy Award winning actors and winning a rave review from Hollywood Reporter.
Producer-director Lesli Linka Glatter invited Annette to shadow Alex Graves on Showtime's "Homeland."
In 2021 she was chosen for the DGA Women's Steering Committee SQUAD program, established to help mid-career women directors advance their careers.
Annette is a seasoned screenwriter and script-doctor, with projects out to buyers including a limited series set in Berlin and an independent feature film, a transgender family story with a celebrity trans-actor attached to play the lead.
